Build on your BASI!

As a result of both Brexit and Covid-19, many people are concerned with securing work for the beginning of next season – we have the answer! We are now able to provide anyone with a snowsports qualification, the opportunity to take an intensive course to build on their current qualification thus allowing them to continue training and crucially working in Europe.

So what's included?

Private transfer provided from either Munich or Salzburg Airport direct to our resort accommodation. Due to Covid regulations, it may be necessary for a candidate to present not only their passport but also a letter of declaration confirming both the reason for travel and duration of their stay. Once you have booked onto our course, we will provide you with your letter.

Your accommodation will be for the duration of your course. For those of you who have trained with us before, you will already be used to our self-catered apartments in Altenmarkt however, due to Covid-19 we have taken the unusual step of preparing other accommodation should you need to be housed in a ‘working bubble’.  In that case, the accommodation would be on a half-board basis offering comfortable rooms and pleasant surroundings which will be ideal and crucially SAFE for all.

We’re based in the Ski Amadé, one of Europe’s biggest ski areas. The Amadé is made up of World Cup resorts such as Zauchensee, Schladming and Flachau together with some other traditional mountain resorts offering some truly breathtaking skiing. Your season lift card is included in the course price.

All course training will be undertaken by our chief trainer Joey

Joey, whilst born in the U.K. has spent much of his adult life in the Austrian Alps. Initially qualifying through BASI, Joey switched his attention to Austria achieving the Austrian Stadtlicher allowing him to train and examine candidate instructors. Joey has worked in every major European skiing country including France, Italy, Switzerland and of course Austria. Stints in NZ and Australia kept him busy when the Northern Hemisphere warms up and now we are lucky to call him one of our own – you will be in incredibly safe hands!

  • How long will you train per day? Course training will be 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with weekends to relax and enjoy the resort.
  • Will the course be in english? Yes – both your training & examinations will be in english.
  • When will the exams take place? The exams will take place immediately following the completion of your training, you will complete the theory exam on the eve of your final day, followed by the teaching & technical exams during your final day.

Austria is recognised as a world leader in all things skiing and it should be of no surprise that Austrian instruction qualifications are globally recognised.

If you are building on your BASI by adding Austria’s qualifications to it then the course choice for you depends on what level  you are currently on. BASI Level 1+2 will need to do a shortened L1+2 (Anwärter) course; if you are BASI level 3, then you will be beginning you LS1 (Landes 1) course.

Former course members have used their qualifications in New Zealand, Australia as well as throughout Europe and this will be the same for you. Once the course and exams are over, should you pass, you will be a fully certified instructor with the possibility of working anywhere in the world!
